Ash & Mill cold-pressed rosehip oil is rich in beta-carotene, commonly known as pro-vitamin A. Following application, the β-carotene is converted to retinyl esters , which can then go on to be converted to vitamin A, the holy grail of anti-aging, stimulates cell turnover and the production of collagen to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, decreases oil-production, has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Omega-6 and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids play a critical role in normal skin function and appearance. Rosehip oil is rich in linoleic (n-6) and alpha-linolenic acids (n-3). omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids play role in maintaining the structural integrity and barrier function of the skin.
Rosehip oil also contains the phytosterol, β-sitosterol which has strong skin soothing and moisturizing properties.
Rosehip oil is best used after cleansing and before bed at night.
